CITIZEN SUPPORT

Dear Pulaski-Area Citizen,

We are writing you concerning an important change ahead that directly impacts your community, and we need your help. Our beloved and loyal Police K9, Raider, will be retiring in August of 2017. MyPulaskiK9.org, in partnership with the Pulaski Police Department, is raising funds to replace him, along with the needed equipment for a quality and sustainable K9 police patrol for the Pulaski area.

Raider, trained specifically for locating drugs, joined the police department in 2009 through a collaborated fundraising effort with the Pulaski Community School District. As we look to the future of the police K9, we are looking to fund a K9 trained not only in locating drugs, but also in tracking and searching for individuals. This will greatly enhance law enforcement's ability to find lost children, locate missing adults due to medical issues, search buildings for intruders and assist in tracking and apprehending criminals in homes or businesses. A highly visible K9 in the community is a deterrent to criminal activity.

It is our hope that the citizens and community-minded business and organizations will answer this urgent need to fund this important element of our safety and security. The K9 program is not part of the standard operating budget of the Pulaski Police Department, and that is where your participation is so important. MyPulaskiK9.org is a recently-formed non-profit community organization with the sole purpose to fund the Pulaski Police Department with quality K9 support. Your gift is tax-deductible.

Your gift matters. Whether $20, $50 or $500 your gift directly supports the K9 program.

We have also created a Tribute-level citizen gift at which point you qualify for an inscription of your choice on our Tribute-Memorial installation on display in the community.

In the months leading up to Raider's retirement you will see an increase in community awareness of this valuable program. A number of businesses have already pledged their support of the program and we are hosting a fundraising 5K run/walk on Sunday, April, 23rd. We encourage you to participate and challenge others to do so.

We are anxious to take a big bite out of our fundraising goal to ensure Pulaski can remain a safe place for our visitors and residents by raising the needed funds to keep our K9 police program moving forward. To learn more about MyPulaskiK9.org and the 5K event, visit our website today!

Can we count on you to help? If you or your family would like to join us in this journey of funding a replacement K9 and the associated equipment, training and important maintenance expenses, please complete the enclosed registration form or go online to give a secure, tax-deductible gift today.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

MyPulaskiK9.org
